EVERY NOW AND THEN THEATRE radio dramas are unique, fresh and exciting by the way we cast and perform. Each cast-crew is allowed only one rehearsal then perform. Everyone rises to the challenge. We spotlight a celebrity host introducing each cast, relating factoids at the breaks, and often performing cameos. We select participants countywide, showcasing top local actors deliberately mixed with beginners. The result is award-winning quality. Shows are cast by invitation. However, we’re open to bribes.

OUR MISSION is to have fun entertaining, informing, educating, and giving back with unique radio theatre broadcasts that benefit foster kiddos. We all volunteer.
No one personally profits.
WE'RE DIFFERENT Not just another national broadcast radio theatre group, our well researched show themes that we've tackled (whether dramas or dramadies) include: Finding Christmas spirit; National Debt Abuses; How Real Minions lead humans astray; Famous spiritual redemptions; Alternative vehicle fuels; Exposing urban legends; UFO encounters; Christmas miracles; Classic literature adaptations; Time travel, and many social issues.

Founded by James M. Wortman with the first show in September 1990, the all volunteer EVERY NOW AND THEN THEATRE performs exclusively for broadcast. We perform on stage when the mood strikes us. WE GIVE BACK to our community by providing broadcast copies to our cast, crew and fans in exchange for donations benefitting foster, homeless and abused children in Ventura County, CA.  100% of proceeds go to that effort. No one personally profits.
ALSO, to date, we’ve donated 1300+ radio drama CDs to U.S. troops overseas. Expanding across the U.S., we offer our previous award winning broadcasts to radio stations nationally in exchange for donations benefitting foster kiddos in their area.

EVERY NOW AND THEN THEATRE's copyrighted original scripts and adaptations are heard via radio and experienced on stage or in group settings by us and our client licensees.  No one personally profits. Since first entering audio competitions in 2002, we currently count 64 awards-- 59 International, 4 National, and 1 local-- in categories of entertainment excellence, distinction, creativity and strategy, altruistic efforts, best drama uplifting mankind, best in show, etc..
